Homemade Christmas Ornament
There are innumerable Christmas craft ideas to do with your kids or to make if you are on a budget. Spending time together making decorations for the home is a popular tradition many of us can enjoy with friends or family. We discovered one that truly creates a fantastic tree ornament that you don't want to hi
Here's a list of what you will need:
- A dozen or more clear ornaments. Glass works best, but for those of you with young children, you can use acrylic balls.
- A small marble or ball bearing.
- Nail polish or it can work using tempura paint.
- Floor wax and fine glitter (if desired).
- erwsdz 1\4” decorative ribbon.
First, take off the ornament’s top and pour a nickel sized amount of your desired paint color. If you wish to use multiple colors, allow the paint to fully dry between layers. Gently place the marble or ball bearing inside and roll it around the sphere to manipulate the paint. Be sure you do not shake the ornament with the marble still inside. Once the paint is spread in the desired way, remove the marble. To add glitter, you must first apply a small amount of floor wax inside after the first layer of paint has dried, and maneuver the ornament until the wax has covered the sides. While it is still wet, add your glitter and place your finger over the hole so you can shake the glitter around. The wax will dry clear and help adhere the glitter. Lastly, tie your decorative ribbon around the top before replacing the ornament’s top.
We hope you plan a fun activity with your friends or family to decorate your home for the Holidays.
