Climb Aboard the Heber Creeper

Are you or your family glued to a screen all day? Need a change of scenery? A train ride may be just the ticket to chase away those technology fueled blues!

Anyone that knows me can tell you that I am an "Old Soul" at heart. I keep up with the latest and greatest tech toys but nothing makes me happier than going home and playing an old 78 on my Victor Victrola. So taking a ride on an historic train is right up my alley. Thankfully I did not have to go far in order to do so.

The "Heber Creeper" departs from The Heber Valley Railroad Depot in the heart of Heber City Utah on an almost daily basis. Heber is roughly a 45 minute Scenic drive from Downtown Salt Lake City. The train and Depot will bring on feelings of nostalgia for those who have been around for a while and a glimpse of a bygone era for those who have never ridden a train before.

I took my kids on "The Pumpkin Train". They enjoyed about a 45 minute train ride with interactive games, a "Thriller" dance along, and a tasty pumpkin chocolate chip cookie. After the ride they got to pick out a pumpkin to take home. My kids loved it! They love trains to begin with and to be able to ride a vintage train was a huge thrill for them. I enjoyed watching the beautiful scenery out the caboose windows and being able to provide my kids with an experience they may never have again. The Heber Creeper represents a slice of Americana that has just about disappeared.

The Heber Valley Railroad offers a wide variety of themed train rides from Cowboy Trains, Princess Trains, Hobo Trains, to The North Pole Express. I hear The North Pole Express is very popular so jump online early to buy your tickets at:

They also offer longer trips for those looking for a nice scenic ride, Sunset BBQs, or even Adventure Trains. The Adventure Trains combine a ride on the rails with River rafting, Horse back riding, or Zip Lining. There truly is something for everyone!

Life is too short to just stay inside glued to our phones, tablets, or T.Vs. Go out and experience the world and all that it has to offer! We are fortunate to live in Utah where we have such a wide variety of natural beauty to enjoy. Start thinking outside the box for ways to have fun and adventures to go on.

When you make it out to Heber to ride the train and fall in love with the Heber Valley- let me know! I love showing homes in Heber. It is such a nice break from the hustle and bustle of the SL Valley.

As always- let me know if I can ever assist you with your Real Estate needs. I am not only your Northern Utah Real Estate Expert but also The Realtor in The Know when it comes to things to do and adventures to be had! Thanks for reading.
